Sweet Union, 1991

Perhaps the best photograph the artist has taken, this documents a cemetery marker for the Sweet Union graveyard in East Texas. Implying that, after death one is rewarded with a "sweet union" with the Almighty, nonetheless this marker has been cleaved by the forces of nature, providing a staggeringly ironic image. And with patience, Mr. Lamb was able to capture the moment when the afternoon sun highlighted the marker through a shade tree.
